Successes and Challenges for Local Businesses during COVID-19

26 Jan 2021
9:00am - 11:00am PST

Tickets are sold out

Join us to hear how local businesses facing COVID-19 have adapted, creatively tackled challenges, and pursued solutions for environmental social and economic sustainability. We will use a dynamic online platform (gather.town*), to convene, hear a few stories, then use our online avatars to mix and mingle at themed virtual table discussions to connect with other businesses in a way not possible since the pandemic began.

SFU Food Systems Lab recently worked with eight independently-run local businesses and two non-profit organizations on case studies to support a green recovery from COVID-19. They learned how they found creative solutions to support staff, safety, customer engagement, finance, and sustainability practices. A few businesses will share their stories, and then we will have a peer-to-peer online exchange to encourage collaboration, networking, and sharing of ideas between local businesses and supporting organizations/associations.

Please register online by January 19. Enrollment is limited. This event is free. An honouraria are available on request for small local business participants.
