Community Impact Assessment

Community Impact Assessment

Although many independent businesses create local jobs, businesses create the most impact when they are committed to using business as a force for good. We created our Community Impact Assessment to assess the greater relative impacts of businesses who are committed to local sourcing, great employment practices,  reduced environmental impacts, and the best social practices.

We developed the Community Impact Assessment, ran a beta test with many of our businesses, and then worked with the Vancouver Economic Commission to develop an online tool that can be used by any business.

Our goal is to have all the businesses we work with go through the Community Impact Assessment to asses their current practices, and identify actions to improve their impact. We are identifying the ways we can link this to company profiles on our local sourcing directory.

The Community Impact Assessment is also used as part of our Community Impact Measurement & Buy Local Marketing projects. We publish all the stories of impact as part of these projects on bcbuylocal.com.

If you're business is part of one of our current projects, or you're listed in our directory, please take the assessment below! Any business can take the assessment, however we only publish stories when businesses are part of current projects.
