Event Details

B.C. Buy Local Week is an annual celebration of the unique contributions that local businesses make to our local communities and the B.C. economy. Buy Local Week encourages consumers to vote with their dollars for the kind of communities they want to live in. So it makes sense that this month we partner with B Local, the local B Corp community, who encourage voting with your dollars every day.

Hosts

B Corp's B Local chapter of local businesses and Lunapads host this event.

Lunapads is local manufacturer, wholesaler and online retailer of reusable menstrual products. They are a long-time LOCO member, and certified B Corp. They will host this event at their new location. Let's help them celebrate their 25th anniversary as a leader in the business of helping people have more positive and informed experiences of their period, and their bodies overall.

B Local is a local group of certified B Corps who gather monthly to discuss current issues, network, and share business strategies. B Corp certification aims to harness the power of business to help address society’s greatest challenges - like wealth inequality, climate change, and social unrest. It verifies credible leaders in the business community, creating supportive infrastructure and incentives for others to follow their lead, and engages the major institutions with the power to transform our economy. Certified B Corps are businesses with a commitment to positive social and environmental impact, who also act as leaders for the next generation of entrepreneurs. Since 2006, over 2500 companies in 50+ countries around the world have become B Certified. Canada has 230 certified B Corps.

Help us minimize waste by bringing your own cup. We'll have a small number of glasses on site for those who forget.
