Event Details
In 2022 "Step into the River: A Framework for Economic Reconciliation" was published by Sxwpilemaát Siyám (Chief Leanne Joe, Squamish Nation) and Lily Raphael.
As part of Canada's National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, this event presents an opportunity to learn about the framework and discuss how to address economic reconciliation meaningfully in your business.
On October 2nd, we'll host a discussion to hear your ideas and share a few ideas from local businesses.
Ahead of the event, we recommend that you to watch the 2-hour recording of the framework launch event. It includes a presentation by the authors and a panel discussion.
During the recording, you'll hear from:
- Authors Sxwpilemaát Siyám (Chief Leanne Joe, Squamish Nation) and Lily Raphael
- Panel speakers including Marissa Lawrence, First Nations Municipal Community Economic Development Initiative, Ginger Gosnell-Myers, Nisga'a and Kwakwak'awakw Indigenous Fellow with SFU's Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, and Chris (Syeta’xtn) Lewis, SFU Director of Indigenous Initiatives and Reconciliation
